Fly Fishing – A Lifetime Sport

Unlike most sports you’re never too old to fly fish. Each time you go out you learn something new, and that is why the heros of our sport are in their 70’s and 80’s.

Join us in the Philadelphia area outdoor classroom while an International Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor introduces you to the life-time sport of fly-fishing, or just spend a few hours improving your casting form, accuracy, or distance.

About Tom

Few instructors enjoy their task more than Tom Cooper. He is dedicated to help you learn and enjoy fly-fishing and will provide the skills needed to enjoy the sport for years to come.
A 35-year fly-fishing veteran, Tom has taught fly-casting and fly-fishing for such notable companies as LL Bean and the Orvis Fly Fishing 101 classes.

Living in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Tom is a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor who has taught casting and fly-fishing skills to thousands of students. He serves on the board of the Chesapeake Council of the International Federation of Fly Fishers and volunteers for Project Healing Waters teaching fly fishing to disabled vets.

Casting Lessons

Whether you are a new or returning fly fisherman, or an experienced caster wanting to improve your double haul for that saltwater trip of a lifetime, our private lessons will help you understand the principles of successful fly-casting.

Our reasonably priced standard group lessons will help you learn the mechanics that create the good form that results in an efficient cast with pinpoint control.

Casting clinics are the perfect gender-neutral event for corporate outings or executive retreats. Our programs are noncompetitive activities that generate a spirit of cooperation and camaraderie, essential results for a successful event.

 Fly Fishing Schools

Our program is designed for the beginning fly fisher who wants an introduction to the sport. You will learn the essentials of fly-casting, equipment, knot tying, entomology, and stream tactics. After that we will put to practical use the theories learned by fishing for rainbows, browns and native brook trout.

This is the complete course structured for the person who wants to be fully prepared to fish on his or her own. We’ll give you the tools you need to begin the life-long enjoyment fly fishing offers.
